Audit Services

Audit services comprise one of our largest practice areas.  We audit a diverse group of clients with a concentration in the non-profit area.  In addition, we have specializations in affordable housing projects and condominium associations.  An audit involves procedures such as confirmation with outside parties, observation of inventories, a review of internal controls, and testing selected transactions by examining supporting documents.  An audit provides the highest level of assurance that the financial statements are presented fairly in conformity with U. S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and are free of material misstatements.  An audit is appropriate for entities that must offer a higher level of assurance to ownership and third parties.

We have several years of experience providing services to not-for-profit clients as independent auditors.  During this time, we have become skilled with the regulatory and reimbursement environment, as well as with specific economic and financial developments affecting the not-for-profit sector.  These organizations operate under specialized accounting rules and have unique operational concerns.  Our sizeable not-for-profit client base provides our professional staff with significant experience in these areas.

The firm's experience includes audits under OMB Circular A-133 (Audits of States, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organizations); audits required by governmental agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; and audits of specific programs.
